about us
"For over a decade I traveled from North to South America and found First Nation communities struggling with the same setbacks, threatening their way of life and the ecosystems they protect. That is why WE created Kako Earth to create a scalable solution across the Americas."
- Kumiko Hayashi Executive Director & Founder
visioN
At Kako Earth, we envision a world where the Indigenous Nations of Abya Yala are united in sovereignty and spirit, strengthened with access to the resources they need to protect and regenerate their ancestral wisdom and bioregional biodiversity. We build bridges and partnerships that sustain a future where living cultures and ecosystems thrive together.
missioN
Kako Earth exists to support the empowerment of Indigenous communities in protecting their ancestral wisdom, territories, and ecosystems through strategic alliances. We weave bridges of resources that enable the strengthening of their autonomous projects, focused on the care and regeneration of their bioregions.
Our Immediate Objectives
-
Implement training programs for indigenous communities with modern conservation techniques and ancestral practices to empower them in the management of their ecosystems.
-
Launch projects in selected bioregions that demonstrate the feasibility of integrating bioeconomy with ancestral knowledge, focusing on sustainability and environmental regeneration.
-
Establish new strategic alliances with global, academic and governmental organizations to increase the impact and reach of conservation initiatives.
-
Work with government and non-governmental entities to influence and formulate policies that integrate ancestral wisdom into national and international biodiversity conservation and management strategies.
