GATHERINGs
On February 25, 2025, Indigenous leaders, wisdom keepers, and change-makers from across Abya Yala (the Americas) gathered in Guatemala, in the the lush rainforest of the Maya Biosphere Reserve. From the shores of Lake Petén Itzá to the central temple of Tikal, this historic convergence marked the ceremonial closing of a 26,000-year cycle and the opening of a new era.
Born from a call of the ancestors, ancestral rituals, prayer, and bioregional visioning came together to renew a shared commitment to restore balance, protect biodiversity, and uphold the sanctity of life on Earth.
In the heart of the Maya world, participants affirmed a collective vow: to strengthen alliances across territories, safeguard sacred lands and waters, and carry forward the wisdom of the elders into a time of planetary transformation.
The Tikal Convergence became a portal moment of awakening ancient memory and setting in motion a new cycle rooted in Indigenous leadership, ecological regeneration, and unity in diversity.
