We are awarding 8 prizes of $8,888 to 8 Bioregional Projects that are led from Indigenous Territorites that supports animal, water, sacred site, and ecological restoration as part of a Sanctuary of Life Vision.

Open Call for Indigenous-Led Initiatives
Purpose:
Kako Earth is offering grant funding to support Indigenous peoples working in their territories to restore life in their bioregions. This includes efforts related to animal protection, water-land restoration, cultural revitalization, and the creation or strengthening of ancestral or bioregional centers. Selected recipients will receive a financial prize to begin implementing their proposed solution.

Call for Bioregional Plan Proposals
$8,888 for 8 Visionary Projects
Eligibility
Indigenous-led initiatives
Based in ancestral territories across Abya Yala (the Americas)
Focused on bioregional restoration, cultural renewal, or spiritual revitalization
What to Include in Your Proposal
1. Project Summary
Briefly describe your vision for regenerating your territory. Include cultural and ecological significance.
2. Bioregional Context
Describe your bioregion’s ecosystems, spiritual landmarks, and the challenges your community faces.
3. Objectives & Impact
List your main goals. What will this project restore or protect? Who and what will benefit?
4. Sanctuary of Life Components
Choose at least 2 of the following:
• Water restoration (springs, rivers, sacred water)
• Sacred site protection or renewal
• Wildlife corridor creation or protection
• Reforestation or native agroforestry
• Cultural or spiritual practices (ceremonies, teachings)
5. Timeline & Action Plan
Provide a step-by-step plan covering 6–12 months. Include key actions and who will carry them out.
6. Community Involvement
Explain how your community—especially youth and elders—will co-create and participate in the plan.
7. Monitoring & Signs of Healing
How will you track progress? What signs or indicators will show your plan is working?
8. Visuals & Documentation
Submit at least one:
• Short video
• Photos
• Map, sketch, or land drawing
• A symbol or visual representation of your vision

Kako Earth Bioregional Restoration Grant
A Call to Support Indigenous-Led Projects for the Restoration of Life in Ancestral Territories
Kako Earth is offering seed funding to support Indigenous initiatives across Abya Yala that are restoring their bioregions and protecting sacred ways of life. This grant supports community-led efforts including reforestation, water restoration, animal protection, and the revitalization of ancestral wisdom through bioregional or ceremonial centers.

Eligibility
To be considered for this grant, your project must meet the following criteria:

Cultural and ceremonial preservation
Include or support a bioregional or ancestral center in the territory
